40 Days of CropChocolatiering...dot com

Yesterday marked our 40th day of bringing sweet deals to YOU, our customer. 40 seems to be a magical number for many, in fact, ancient writings clearly use a 40 day cycle for calendric purposes. It is used in sources such at the Bible, second century Hebrew ruins, Apollodorus, Timeaus and more.

So what does 40 have to do with CropChocolate.com?

In our first 40 days of business we have discovered the following:

1. Our customer is the most important asset to our company. We have been expedient in resolving customer service challenges. There have been hiccups here and there and regardless of the issue, we have been able to resolve it and turn a bitter experience into a sweet one. We value your opinions and needs and work to fulfill the commitments of CropChocolate.com.

2. Prepare for the best case scenario. Initially our target was to hit "x" by our sixth month in business. Our first month we exceeded our sixth month goal by 5X and are trending towards 7X in our second month. The accelerated growth has created some challenges and we have adapted and adjusted to meet them.

3. Hire only the best. ChopChocolate.com was developed by a group with vast experience in one deal at a time online marketing. But that's not enough. We have hired two more-then exceptional customer service managers, killer warehouse personnel and we can't say enough about our development team. We have quickly migrated from a one deal a day site to two and have had a 96% shipping success rate. We are working harder than ever to make up, and make it up to the other 4%.

4. Eat 3 square meals a day with healthy snacks in between.

5. Give back to the community. So far CropChocolate.com has sent out free product to several non-profit organizations. Aside for the 10% employees give to organizations they believe in, CropChocolate.com has donated product to families of our troops serving overseas, March of Dimes, scrapbook retreat for challenged moms, and more. We look forward to more opportunities to give so please let us know if there is a cause YOU support.

6. We have two ears and one mouth for a reason. We have listened to our customers closely. Although we have not implemented all your requests, we are allocating resources to look into the development of certain projects. Some of them include international monthly shipping, domestic weekly shipping, RSS feeds and more. Look for changes as our resources permit.

7. Facebook and Twitter are great a means of communication. Well, we knew that already but it's been confirmed so...join in k.

These are just a few of the things we have learned and we are continually striving to make your day SWEET.

The SWEETNESS of Growing Pains

First off, thank YOU all for making our first month delectable—we never imagined so many wonderful fans and yummy comments. We have heard such things as:

“I got my jars of flowers yesterday, wow, FAST shipping! And the flowers are totally sweet. Thanks for the great service and the great deals!”

Or,

“Keep up the awesome deals. I *LOVE* the extra Hot CHocolate add-ons AND the 2nd daily Dark Chocolate evening choice!!! CropChocolate.com is the best "daily deal" for crafters out there AND the FASTEST shipping too (my credit card charge barely has time to show up in my account before the product is at my door!) :-D”

And,

“I am loving your sight. I cannot wait to check it first thing in the morning and now again at 9pm. Sweet doesn't even begin to describe it :)”

These are just a few comments on our
facebook fan page.

Along with the sweetness there has been some bitterness. We have mis-shipped, we have had to upgrade onto a faster server, our shipments have gone out a day late on a rare occasion and we have changed a thing or two on the site. So thank YOU again—for your patience and visits!

These are the growing pains of a startup—we are working like Umpa-Lumpas to fix any challenge. Any of you who have experienced a mis-ship know how quickly our sugary-sweet customer service managers are to respond to your requests with a solution…a SWEET solution.

We listen closely to what you are saying—whether it’s an email or post on our blog or facebook—and we take it seriously…like changing the DARKchocolate time to 8:00 PM Eastern instead of 10:00 PM.

We are growing at a rate only expected after a year of business and will continue to grow as we add more brands. Making Memories has been brilliant through the testing phase and as soon as we work out all the pangs of such rapid growth, we will begin to introduce new brands…and there are many waiting in the wings.
