News and More

Before we announce more information on the CropChocolate.com Cruise Contest, we have to get a few things straightened out. For one, we need to firm up the dates. Right now our coordinator has proposed January 8th but we don't know if that's a good time since it's so close to Christmas and the New Year. We'd love your thoughts and input on this. We've also secured more prizes that will be great from some of the new brands we'll be bringing on in the months to come.

The second thing we need to straighten out is the continuing challenge we're having with customers adding more than 3 of any item to their la Cartes then using it to trade. As you know, we had a product description go up regarding this matter and for a few short days it helped. But, there are customers who started collection additional product so we developed security measures. There are some who have found their way around some of the security measures we've put in place so we've implemented the following; our systems will automatically take items out of your la Carte if you have more than the allotted amount of 3 items on the day it's sold. If there is continual abuse, our systems will flag your account and pause your ability to add items and swap. Here's why we have to take such drastic and fair measures:

1 - It's the policy of CropChocolate.com.
2 - It ties up inventory and takes purchasing opportunities away from other customers.
3 - It causes us to oversell items. We NEVER sell more than what we have in our warehouse when the item is featured. We have had the unfortunate occasion where we are short-shipped and inventory isn't counted or we've shipped to customers twice, but that's been fixed. Now we're seeing a completely different shortage challenge--customers adding in multiples of 3 several times over and adding product to alias accounts then transferring it to one account. Some customers have over 30 of any given items (usually the best ones). So if we purchase 300 and the usual offenders add the 30+ to their la Cartes through their accounts and alias accounts, we over sell by 60+ within seconds. We're set up to sell out several units before the item actually sells out but when items are added in multiples of 3 within seconds of each other, it causes an oversell. The individuals that are taking more than their allotted amount distribute it through swaps and we remain oversold. Our system is now removing those "extra" items and flagging accounts that abuse the swapping system.

We put a lot of money into developing the swaps and we do not intend to discontinue the service because there is value. However we will flag those who abuse the system and block their ability to participate.
