2 LO's by BethD488 - Beth

Happy November ladies!! :)
We've got a fun filled month with some special features and fun ideas for you to create on your own!

For November, the Design Team challenge was a recipe:
3+ pieces of patterned paper, any size.
1 fiber (ribbon, lace, stitching, twine, hairy fiber...).
3 metals (brads, charms).
1 decorative edge.
Each member of the DT will be showing their product featuring this recipe.

REMEMBER!!  If you decide to do this challenge and play along, please post your work in SweetTalk!  We'd love to see what you're up to!

First up, we have Beth.  She did 2 LO's for your viewing pleasure!!

Here's her video on how to create a decorative edge using the Slice.

Using the Slice to cut a decorative edge:
1.       Spray your mat with your adhesive (or use the liquid adhesive and spread it over the mat).
2.       Wait 1 minute for the adhesive to dry.
3.       Choose the Design Card you want to use and insert it into your machine.
4.       Turn your machine on and Home your machine if you haven’t done so in awhile. (Go to settings to do this)
5.       Select the design you want to use (“select” the title, “select” the page based on where the design is located on the design guide, “select” the image)
6.       Select the size image you want to use by using the single arrow button.  You can also choose between normal and shadow (in some mirror) by using the double arrow button.
7.       Press the select button once you have made all your choices.

LO #1 - Sleepover

Supplies:

“Sleepover” layout:
MME – So Sophie Charming kit (“We are Family” loop-de-loop, “Forever with You” delightful diamond, “Perfect” journal card, “Be Happy” journal card, “We are Family” cousins sticker)
Slice Design Cards
Baby (bed time (2inch), heart (1.5inch), star (1.5inch))
Basic (fun (2inch))
MM charm (from celery ribbon set)
MM kids fresh stickers – spotlight
MM shimmer sticker – brown
MM pewter mini circle brads
SU chocolate chip 1/4inch ribbon

Instructions:
“Sleep over” layout
Begin by cutting out the following pieces of patterned paper:
1.       Largest piece is 8.5inch x 8.5inch.
2.       Top piece is 4inch x 8.5inch. (the 4inches allows for 0.5inch overlap for attaching)
3.       Side piece is 4inch x 12inch. (the 4inches allows for 0.5inch overlap for attaching)
Trim photos so they fit into a grid (I used 3.5inch x 4inch) and adhere to paper.
Add charm to ribbon, and adhere ribbon.  I used a 13inch piece of ribbon so that I had enough to turn over to the back to adhere and make sure the edge looked finished.
Adhere journal cards where desired.  You can always substitute another journal card for a photo or vice versa.  Use brads to accent one of the journal cards.
Choose title and adhere alpha stickers to paper.  Depending on the color used, you may or may not want the backing paper like I used.  I just didn’t feel that the contrast of the alphas on the diamond paper were enough.

Cut out decorative edge using Slice and adhere to page.  See below for instructions.  Remember decorative edges don’t have to be shapes or patterns.  They can be words.

LO #2 - Monkey See, Monkey Do:

Supplies:
“Monkey see Monkey do” layout
MME – So Sophie Graceful kit (“Sweet Chic” focused, “Open Your Heart” berry stem, “Little Lady” considerate tulip, “Happy for You” journal card)
MM charm (from celery ribbon set)
MM kids fresh stickers – spotlight
MM chloe’s closet – cork alpha stickers
Slice Design card – Basics – square frame (4inch)
MM pewter flower snaps
SU Elegant Eggplant 1/4inch ribbon

Instructions:
“Monkey see Monkey do” layout
Trim and layout photos as desired.   I used wallet size photos for the top part, and roughly 4inch x 4inch or 4inch x 3.5inch for the bottom ones.
Then you can decide where to make your angle.  I actually cut one paper and then cut the other to match the line.  Then I used the extra wide trim edge from one of the papers in the back to adhere the paper to.
Add charm to ribbon and adhere ribbon along the angle intersection.  You can either stop this at the point or continue it under your journaling.
Cut another piece of paper to infill the corner.  Adhere your journaling card to this.  Use brads to acent the corners.
Choose your title and set it along the angle.  Depending on the title you choose, you might only use one side of the angle, and you could add some embellishments on the other side instead.
Cut out decorative edge frame using Slice and add it to you picture.
