This project
was inspired by Katy Perry’s “Firework”.
It was the song that was playing as I (and about 3000 other walkers)
started on my 3-day, 60-mile journey through DC for Susan G. Komen 3-Day for
the Cure.
CC Supplies:

MM Glitter Clears – flowers bright; flowers red and pink
MM brads – mini silver circle
Slice Design Card – Summer with embossing tips
Non-CC supplies:
Solid paper from stash (I don’t remember the brand)
MM brads – circle clear crystal
MM tagged vellum - ovals
Melissa Frances – vintage transfers – breast cancer rub-ons
OT breast cancer pink ribbon brads
SU pink passion ink with daubers
Instructions:
Begin by choosing two patterned papers and two solid.
Then trim your photos and mat on one of the patterned papers. I used 4.5 inch by 10.5 inch piece.
Cut a strip of one solid (preferably a contrasting shade). I used 0.5 inch.
Cut a piece of the other solid slightly wider than the photos. I used 5 inch by 10.5 inch piece.
Using your Slice, emboss and deboss the wider piece of solid paper. I alternated between the two.
1.
Change
from the blade to the embossing tip. Use
the wrench and remove the blade. Then
connect the embossing tip to the wrench and screw it into the Slice.
2.
Turn your cutting mat over and use the
back. You can still use the hands free
device this way.
3.
Hone your machine since you changed tips.
4.
Select the image and size you want to use and
start the action.
5.
Check the image to make sure the tip isn’t
cutting or tearing the paper. Different
thicknesses of paper will require different pressures. If it is tearing the paper, change the
pressure of the tip, referring to the Slice troubleshooting guide.
Tip: if you want the image raised
on your project (embossing), then make sure the paper is upside down when
creating the image. If you want the
image depressed on your project (debossing), then leave the paper right-side up
when creating the image.
Cut two more strips of the first solid.
I used 0.5 inch. Cut to various
lengths and use for journaling.
Choose rub-on image and adhere to vellum tag.
Assemble using brads to attach tag, flowers and journaling.
I used the ink and daubers on the Lush pink alphabet for title because
it wasn’t standing out from the solid paper.
