Valentines Angel - by Michele

Technique: Paper tearing and folding

Ingredients:

1 12x12 plain pink cardstock
1 12x12 patterned pink cardstock (Preferably 2-sided)
2  2 ½” hearts out of coordinating paper
2  16” pieces of 1 ½” wired ribbon
8-10 pieces of colored wire, curled
Glue Dots or other adhesive
Embellishments if desired

How to make a Valentines Angel

*Tear all 4 sides of the plain cardstock. Fold paper fan-like, making each fold about 1” wide.
*Fold patterned paper fan-like, making each fold about ¾”-1”.
*Once the patterned paper is folded, fold the paper in half, making it look like a fan. Cut a notch long and wide enough about 1 ½” down from the fold. Slide the folded plain paper into the notch, making the wings.
*To secure the wings, take 1 piece of ribbon and tie it diagonally over the notch, making a knot in the front of the angel. Do the same with the 2nd piece of ribbon but tie diagonally on the opposite side.
*Gently spread out the “dress” of the angel and the wings.
*Gently press down on the center fold of the angel enough to create a head.
*Place 2-4 glue dots or other adhesive on the head. Place the curled wire over the glue and press down firmly. (To curl wire, wrap it around a small pencil, then pull it out slightly to give the ringlet look.)
*Place a few glue dots to the back of the hearts and stagger them on the front of the angel.
*Use embellishments to write your message, decorate, or simply write your message on the hearts.
*Works fabulously as a centerpiece or even nametag for the special sweetheart on Valentine’s Day
