Hi everyone!
I am so excited to share my very first Design Team project with you! I was
shown this technique of using ink and water by a couple of fantastic ladies
here on CC. It is so simple and effective that I want to share it with everyone.
I also created a video of the process that shows just how easy it is!
CC Products:
- Distress Stain (I used Broken China
but you can use any colour you like)
- White cardstock
Other
products:
- Craft mat or alternative (I use a
silicone baking sheet)
- Sponge
- Squirt bottle with water
Card
Supplies:
- Fairy Card – Echo Park
– This & That ‘Graceful’
- Clear Arts Stamps
- Whale Card – Echo Park
– Summertime
- CTMH – ‘Ocean Treasures’ Stamp set
To start the
project you want to lay down your darkest section first. Dab your ink directly
onto your sponge and apply to your paper in the width you would like. Keep
inking and dabbing until you have the colour you would like.
Continue by
adding more ink to your mat and more water to the ink. The more water you add
to the ink the lighter it will become. If you go to light you can go back over
a section with a little more ink. Have fun and play with it! There is not right
or wrong!
You can let
your paper air dry or use your heat tool to dry it. The paper will curl but I
just flatten it down under something heavy once it has dried. Then use your
beautiful new paper to create whatever your little heart desires! I made two
cards with mine.
